"My Country" by Dorothea Mackellar

Today we listened to the poem, "My Country", published in 1908 by Dorothea Mackellar while she was living back in England. It describes her love of Australia and how she misses it. The poem is full of descriptive language.

Our task for this week is to draw a picture using the Paint programme of something we imagine when we think of our country - Australia.

I loved hearing Dorathea Mackellar's poem. It really represents an Australian Identity. I would like to see if she has any more poems. I saw this poem on the back of an Australian book today and it reminded me of the day I read it.
